Cohort description of the We Love Mentors online program
(6 – 12 months duration)

Introduction of WLM’s model and approach for the incubator staff. We help you attract and select the first cohort of mentors and mentees.

 

PREPARATION PHASE 1-2 MONTHS

1. We set the goals and ambitions with the program for your organization
Participants: Program Manager + WLM
We define what you want to achieve with the WLM mentor program, such as:

  • Increase the technology and business readiness level
  • Improve the survival rate of the participating companies
  • Grow the professional networks of the companies
  • Improve leadership skills within the companies
  • Mature the companies’ readiness for investments

 


2. You receive:

  • Ready-to-share content and artwork to attract relevant mentor candidates and mentees
  • Application links for mentors and mentees

Participants: Program Manager + WLM
Based on your specific need of the mentors we provide relevant content to share for:

  • Newsletters
  • Social Media content
  • Your website
  • Application links for mentors and mentees

 


3. We go through the applications and select mentors and mentees for the cohort
Participants: Program Manager + WLM
We recommend the candidates that fit your program.
You notify selected candidates.

 

 


4. We evaluate company data to define KPI’s within technology and business readiness level.
Participants: Program Manager + WLM

  • We collect mentee company data to learn about their:
  • Business Readiness Level
  • Technology Readiness Level
  • Investor Readiness Level (Based on KTH’s definitions
  • Other key performance indicators
  • This will be used later for the final survey and comparison when the companies exit the program.

 

ACTIVATION PHASE 3-4 MONTHS

 

 


1. Kick-off session – 45 minutes
Participants: Program Manager + Mentor
Initial introduction of the mentor program. You will introduce your organization to the program and make sure that all resources are clarified.

 

 


2. First mentor training session
Participants: Mentor + WLM
Introductory session focusing on the role of a good mentor and powerful techniques.

 

 


3. Mentee training – 55 minutes
Participants: Mentee + WLM
We prepare mentees for the upcoming process and explain what they should expect from their mentor and how to prepare for their first session.

 

 

4. Matchmaking
Participants: Mentors + Mentees
The group of mentors is presented with individual pitches from the mentees focusing on their challenges and needs. Mentors can get a deeper understanding by asking clarifying and exploring questions.

After this event, mentors submit their preferences.
Suggested matches are shared with the mentors.
Finally, mentees are informed of their match.

 

 

5. Final mentor preparation
Participants: Mentor
We share guidelines and meeting templates to support the upcoming sessions between mentors and mentees.

 

 


6. First Mentor and Mentee Check-in
Participants: Mentor and Mentee groups
Mentors and mentees share their experiences, network and receive coaching from WLM on their performances.

 

 


7. Second mentor training session – 55 minutes
Participants: Mentor + WLM
The 6 important factors of how to successfully lead a mentoring session.

 

 


8. Second Mentor and Mentee Check-in
Participants: Mentor and Mentee groups
The group of mentors and mentees share their experiences separately.

 

 


10. Third and final mentor training session – 55 minutes
Participants: Mentor + WLM
Halfway through the program, mentors receive the third training session. In this session we go deeper into the techniques of unlocking the potential of your mentee and how to work structured with creative solutions to the challenges your mentee is facing.

 

 


11. Third Mentor and Mentee Check-in
Participants: Mentor and Mentee groups
The group of mentors and mentees share their experiences separately.

 

EVALUATION PHASE 3-4 WEEKS

 


Mentor Certification Process
Participants: Mentor and WLM
Mentors are rated by their mentee. An average evaluation is the key to earning the Mentor Certification.

 

 


Final impact survey with participating Mentees
Participants: Mentees and WLM
Final survey on key performance indicators, technology and business readiness level is conducted and shared with the client.

 

GRADUATION!

 

Shared graduation celebration with cohort of mentors and mentees.
Mentors receive the Certification Diploma.
The results of the survey are presented.
Mentees have the opportunity to show appreciation for their mentors.
